Many music awards have been given in Los Angeles. Some of the major awards for bands include

“Battle Of The Bands”

This event is hosted in various venues around Los Angeles County including Agoura Hills at the Kava Dume Café.

VISIONS Jazz Band Of The Year

Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF)

Each year VISIONS picks one Jazz band to perform at their annual Jazz event. Gregory Hillman and his band was chosen for this award for 2004 and performed at the Skirball for the Israeli Cancer Research Fund.

When you are looking for bands you may be interested in finding out what types of awards they have won because this can show how much they have been involved in the music culture. Bands that have been involved with the music culture and have won these types of awards are typically more experienced. Bands with experience can usually make sure the show happens even when some small things go wrong.

The best way to find out if your artist or band has won an award is to ask. Contact the band or their management directly and ask what types of award they have received and when. This may also give you a good understanding of how current the band is.

Wedding music may include a variety of artists depending on the needs of the people putting the wedding together. Some things to consider when choosing the music for your wedding are the following:

1) What sounds would you like to listen to as an introduction to the wedding. This may include the time when people are entering into the venue.

2) How much sound do you need? Find out how many people will be attending and make sure that either the band or the venue will supply the correct PA and sound system for your event.

3) What music do you want when the bride is walking? This is an important point in the wedding and you should insist upon the music you want. There is a classical structure to formal weddings but most people do not use this. Find out if you want to use all or some of the components of a classical wedding.

4) The first song is very important and sets the mood for the rest of the dancing. Find a song that you and your guests will enjoy. Something that will really help people feel wonderful and excited that they are at your wedding event!

5) Provide you band with songs, artists, and types of music that you would like your guests to listen to. Some bands are able to play the same type of music and some bands can perform the exact songs. Corporate Event Music provides artists that will perform the exact songs you request.

Event planning can take on a lot of different forms. For most corporate or private events there is an event planner or a board that plans the events. Before contacting your vendors such as the band, food, and drinks it is best to have some basics down. Here are some things you should know

1) Location of the event. Make sure you have written confirmation from your venue including the date, time, and what they will be providing your event with.

2) Have a full time schedule for the entire event. This includes when the tickets go on sale, what time the band can set up, what time the sound check is, when the doors will open to your guests, what time the must must stop at, what time the venue needs to be empty, and if there are any special times for special presentations.

3) Find out exactly what you will need from the artists and what you can provide them with. Find out if special parking is available for the artist, if there is electricity on site, if lighting is needed, what type of PA or sound equipment is available, and if there are any security issues that need to be addressed.

4) For larger events we recommend making sure to book everything well in advance.  We also recommend booking the venue 8 months in advance, the band 6 months in advance, and release the tickets as early as possible.

Corporate Event Planners may work inside a company or in their own business. Normally Corporate Event Music works with Corporate Event Planners that are inside a company or a non-profit organization. These planners are usually in charge of the entire event and they are the go to person if there are any questions during the event. The planner is normally also the talent buyer and we encourage all event planners to contact us for a music consultation for their next event.

Solo artists and a group of musicians are much different when you are managing a corporate event. If you are working with a solo artist there is only one car, one plane ticket, and one hotel room. Groups and Bands require much more funding because of the need for transportation and shelter. When you work with Corporate Event Music for your next event, we have group discounts on all forms of transportation around the world for artists. Many of our artists travel frequently to cities in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and all over the United States. This helps us give you the lowest cost on transportation and housing for a group of artists in a band.
